In case ya'll haven't heard, District 6 of the MTA will be hosting the Rondy this time around. This year's event is at Linn Creek on the Missouri Trapshooters Association home grounds. The dates are September 16-19. We're really trying bto come up with some new things to make this an enjoyable event for the whole family. I'll try to get back on here on the 'board to update ya'll from time to time.
Some of the events that are slated are:
Trap setting contests Advanced fur handling demo Kids' stuff. Lots of kids' stuff Cable Restraint class Skinning demo Dryland Canoe Race Women's Bingo Husband & Wife skinning contest Wagon rides Trapshooting derby
In addition to the above I am setting up a very agressive demo schedule. If I can pull it off there will be something like THIRTY demos done in the four days covering most every aspect of trapping.
The MTA shooting range is located on "A" road about halfway between Camdenton and Osage Beach, off of highway 54. Look for a map in the upcoming Mounten Men newsletter, or posted soon on the MTA website.
If you are interested in being a part of this, please call me. I am unfortunately here on this site only on a very infrequent basis. Thanks.

It might be neat to have a demo on how to make fur hats. I saw a demo on that at the Fur Takers convention in Columbia a couple years ago and I think it's a worthwhile thing to know. Guys could make some extra money from their tanned furs if they could make hats and sell them.

You need to contact Jim Homan to register for the CR class, by Sept. 10. His number is 573-378-9005.
The fur hat thing might be do-able. I'll get with Ken Cook and see what he thinks. Thanks for the input.

CB, it's a "skinning" contest by name only. You'll have to see it to understand, and it will be pretty funny!
