Hi all - I'm new too trapping and have just got some new Duke coil spring traps which i would like to try this autumn. We have a good variety of animals to trap in our backyard Bobcat, coyote,Raccoon,Fisher, Opossum and skunk.
I would appreciate a couple of pointers on which baits/lures work best for Bobcats and Coyote as we have most trouble with these two predators.

Wow, sounds like a trappers paradise! I for one would like to have a "problem" with Bobcats & Coyotes like you have. Read up, get ready, & welcome to the board! -T-

welcome johnsee, lots of info here to help ya out. Treeman dont be wishin for some coyotes or I might just ship you a crate full lol LOLZ! I can trap them up where I am originally from, but they would have a hard time(even for coyotes) here. Too many gun slingin boys on these farms. I took up trapping cuz after hunting down them reds for awhile, I quickly learned that with so many predator hunters, and nobody trapping here I was in the wrong biz! However I alsp learned that them gun boys & girls don't get nearly half of 'em. Some of the ones I catch have BB's in 'em. They wont come to calling by mid november. I used to have to take out the .223, or .204 and sit an hour or so before dark, and at daybreak and take cracks at 'em at 300+ yards. It was fun, but i like trapping more now! Shot a red at 479 yards once. I will take a half a crate of 'em then! -T-

I have been in the fur industry since 1978 I am a trapper ,hunter and outdoorsman. I am honest in our grading of furs as we use to be on the other end selling our skins to buyers.
